Political Biography of Kourosh Hangafarin
Kourosh Hangafarin is running for Mayor of the great city of Imperial Beach. As a resident of San Diego for over twenty years, Kourosh has built a solid reputation as a dedicated champion of private enterprise and community service.
Currently, he is the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Center Bank, a $2 billion USD publicly traded company; and the Managing Director of The Corbis Group, a consulting firm specializing in IT and business solutions. Prior to joining Center Bank and The Corbis Group, he served in a senior-level management position at the Xerxes International Corporation, where he directed strategic marketing initiatives for commercial trade operations in six countries with annual revenues totaling over $1 billion USD.
As a long-time civic activist, Kourosh is a member of the World Future Society, the World Affairs Council of San Diego, the District Attorney’s Citizens Advisory Board, the San Diego County Citizens Law Enforcement Review Board, and the United States Navy League. He is a past member of the CRP Central Committee and the San Diego County Planning Commission, and formerly served as a commissioner for the San Diego Unified Port District and an alternate to the RPSDC Central Committee for United States Congressman Darrell Issa.
Kourosh holds an A.A. in Political Science from Los Angeles Harbor College and a B.A. (Dean’s Honors List) in Philosophy and Future Policy Studies in International Economic Development from California State University – Dominguez Hills. He also holds a Certificate in Business Law from the University of West Los Angeles, School of Law, and is a certified helicopter pilot.
On May 13th, 2003, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors declared that day to be “Kourosh Hangafarin Day” throughout San Diego County, in honor of his dedication to public service on behalf of his fellow citizens. |
